28/2/2018 Koreans are extremely different people. (3)
Koreans take
an extremely hostile attitude when facing a Japanese team in sporting events. A
reason is that they have received anti-Japanese education. Then, do they really
dislike Japan? The answer is not necessarily ‘Yes.’ So many Koreans visit Japan
every year. Very few Korean residents in Japan return to Korea. There are many
Japanese restaurants run by Koreans in America and Europe and the owners pretend
to be Japanese. Many other Koreans are said to pretend overseas to be Japanese
too.
Koreans
criticize Japan for the case of ‘comfort women.’ They claim that the Japanese
army took Korean women away and forced them to become its ‘sex slaves.’ This claim
is based only on a fiction forged by a Japanese writer. This is most puzzling.
There is no evidence for such cases. Why did not they examine the cases and
offer enough evidence?
Korea (has) had
actually a widespread culture of prostitution. The culture had spread so
broadly into society that many Korean women often had demonstrations for
‘legalization’ of prostitution. It is also noteworthy that Korea has been a
major supplier of prostitutes to the world.
Comfort
women were nothing but prostitutes, which existed in many countries including
Korea for many years before, during, and after WWII. Korea is a country where
prostitution flourished most prominently in the world. Why do only those Koreans
who were engaged in the business during WWII demand apologies and money from
Japanese government? What suffering did they have? They received enormous
amounts of income and most were very friendly to Japanese soldiers. Most people
including soldiers had incalculable suffering in those days.
There is no
evidence that the Japanese army forced Korean women to become its ‘sex
slaves.’ In contrast, there is evidence that the Korean army raped many
Vietnamese women during the Vietnam War. Thousands of Lai Dai Han are the
results.
It is
obvious that Korea is not qualified to criticize Japan for the case of ‘comfort
women.’ It should criticize itself. I would like to add that the fact that
Koreans do not have true freedom of speech has made Koreans choose a wrong
subject of criticism.
